The beginnings
Exhibiting a critical view of technologically advanced communication since his early years, Kyle’s first art project was started in 3rd grade: In order to boycott the information structure of the ruling class (i.e. the teachers), he refused to take part in his school’s phone chain. While it appeared to the outside to be an act of mindless refusal, it was indeed Kyle’s beginning in political art.

Since his first cell phone art object called LISTEN DOWN! (an installation of 378 Nokia phones in a Finnish marketplace)  Kyle’s style has shifted towards a post-postmodernist angle. The telephone itself has become the object of interest for Kyle Sebastién in recent years, not only highlighting the alienation and diversification of mankind but also conveying political commentary.
